The campsite opened in 1973, in the village of Rahier, along the river that now gives it its name. For more than fifty years it has been welcoming guests from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France and further afield.

The facilities have been updated over the decades — renovated sanitary blocks, electricity on every pitch, free Wi-Fi, a small cafeteria, a sauna — but the feel of the place has stayed the same: quiet, human-scale, close to the river and the forest.

Today the site has 50 pitches split between chalets, a mobile home, a rental caravan, camping pitches and long-term annual pitches. It is family-run, with guests welcomed in French, Dutch and English.

A new name, the same team

The campsite is also known by its earlier name, Camping Chalet Weekend. The shift to Camping La Lienne is gradual and simply reflects where we are: the Lienne river runs alongside the site and shapes daily life here. Same team, same address, same approach. Only the name and logo are changing, so they speak more clearly about what makes the place distinctive.

On the Lienne, in the heart of the Ardennes

The campsite sits in Rahier, part of the municipality of Stoumont, in the province of Liège. This corner of Belgium is defined by forests, steep-sided valleys and small rivers — the Lienne, the Amblève and the Ourthe are all close by. Trois-Ponts station is a short drive away. The Coo waterfall, the Plopsa theme park, Stavelot abbey, the spa town of Spa and the Spa-Francorchamps circuit are all under thirty minutes by car. The Hautes Fagnes national park works well as a day trip.

50 pitches, every style of stay

The campsite offers three chalet variants (family 6-person, comfort 4-person, panoramic 6-person), a 4-person mobile home and a rental caravan for 4 guests. Camping pitches take tents, caravans and motorhomes. Annual pitches are available for caravan or mobile-home owners looking for a long-term base. Prices and amenities are listed on the Accommodation page.
